All classes listed above are $150/quarter for members, $200/quarter for non-members
For each class you will receive a transcript with an attendance record and course description and a certificate of completion at the end of each quarter. You'll receive pictures throughout the quarter of the class. You can use these in your homeschool portfolio if you choose.
Classes are capped at 10 students per class with the exception of PE and Nature Club, which allow more. Classes are filled on a first come, first served basis and will open to members of Florida Homeschool Connection before opening to non-members.
Course Descriptions
PE - Elementary Students
Tuesdays 9-10am, various outdoor locations
Students will stay active, build teamwork skills, and have fun through a variety of games, movement activities, relays, sports, and cooperative challenges. This class focuses on confidence, coordination, healthy habits, and positive social interaction in an encouraging environment where every child can participate and succeed.
Nature Club - All ages
Tuesdays 10:30-11:30am, various locations
Nature Club invites students to explore the outdoors through nature walks, seasonal studies, journaling, observation, and hands-on activities. Students will build curiosity, appreciation for the natural world, and friendships all while exploring local nature. This class is held in different locations weekly.
Intro to Life Skills - All ages
Wednesdays 9-10am, TIS Building Mount Dora
This practical class helps students build their everyday life skills through hands-on activities and real-world learning. Topics may include basic cooking, sewing, self-care, problem-solving, career preparation, home management, health and nutrition, responsibility, and more, all designed to help students become capable and confident young adults.
Magic Academy - Elementary Students
Wednesdays 10:15-11:15am, TIS Building Mount Dora
Step into a world of magic and self-discovery! Using interactive, magic-themed social emotional learning activities, students will explore emotional regulation, confidence, friendship, mindfulness, communication, boundary-setting, and problem-solving in a creative and engaging environment that feels more like an adventure than a lesson.
LEGO Engineering Club - Elementary Students
Wednesdays 11:30-12:30pm, TIS Building Mount Dora
Students will become inventors, builders, and problem-solvers as they tackle exciting LEGO engineering challenges each week. Through hands-on building activities, students will explore creativity, teamwork, design thinking, and basic engineering concepts while having tons of fun bringing their ideas to life.
Artist Spotlight - All ages
Thursdays 9-10am, Canon Coffee Apopka
Travel through art history and create your own masterpieces! Learn about famous artists and their style of art. From da Vinci to Van Gogh, students will explore and create in a fun, relaxed environment. Includes an end of the class showcase for families to join and see their work!
Financial Literacy - Middle & High School Students
Thursdays 10:15-11:15am, Canon Coffee Apopka
This real-world class gives students practical financial skills they’ll actually use in everyday life. Topics may include budgeting, saving, banking, credit, taxes, entrepreneurship, goal setting, smart spending, and financial decision-making, all taught in a way that is engaging, approachable, and relevant for teens.
Financial Literacy - Elementary Students
Thursdays 11:30-12:30pm, Canon Coffee Apopka
This fun and age-appropriate introduction to money management helps students begin building healthy financial habits early. Through games, activities, discussions, and hands-on projects, students will learn about saving, spending, budgeting, earning money, entrepreneurship, and making thoughtful financial choices.
American Sign Language - All ages
Fridays 9-10am, Canon Coffee Apopka
Give your child a fun, meaningful way to learn a new language this school year! In this interactive, hands-on class, students will learn to fingerspell and sign basic signs. Students will also build real conversations through ASL. No experience needed - just come ready to learn, communicate, and have fun!
Photography Club - All ages
Fridays 10:15-11:15am, Canon Coffee Apopka
Photography Club encourages students to see the world through a creative lens while learning the fundamentals of photography and visual storytelling. Students will explore composition, lighting, perspective, editing basics, and creative challenges while building confidence and creativity through hands-on practice. Students can bring their own camera or even cell phone to learn camera skills.
Book Club - Middle & High School
Fridays 11:30-12:30pm, Canon Coffee Apopka
Do you love reading? Do you want to learn to love reading? Book Club brings stories to life through engaging discussions, creative activities, and themed projects. Students will strengthen reading comprehension, critical thinking, and communication skills while sharing their love of books and discovering new favorites with friends. Books will be provided and reading sections at home will be required.
